Father’s Day 2021

June 20, 2021   /   Jared Douglas   /   First Red Oak

“Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”       Ephesians 6:4

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.”  Colossians 3:21

If We Are Going to Guard and Keep Our Kids Hearts We Must:

1. Love Them With Compassion.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”  I Corinthians 13:4-8

2. Lift Them Up With Affirmation.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”  Proverbs 18:21

3. Lead Them Spiritually.

“Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”             Ephesians 6:4

“Reverence for God gives a man deep strength; his children have a place of refuge and security.”                                       Proverbs 14:26
