The Seal Upon Our Hearts: Loving God and Loving People

February 13, 2021

“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.”

(Song of Sol. 6:3)

For Singles:

“Promise me, O women of Jerusalem…not to awaken love until the time is right.” (Song of Sol. 2:7)

“I want you to be free from concern. The unmarried man is concerned about the work of the Lord, how he can please the Lord, but the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife.”

(1 Cor. 7:32-33)

“Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” (Ps. 90:14)

“O God You are my God earnestly I seek You, my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” (Ps. 63:1)

For Married Couples:

“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its ashes are ashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD. Many waters cannot quench love, nor will rivers overflow it; if a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, it would be utterly despised.”

(Song of Sol. 8:6-7)

  • (Song of Sol. 2:15)
  • (Luke 11:34)
  •  (4:4)
  • . (Col. 4:6)
  • .  (4:32)

“The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: ‘Meaningless! Meaningless!’ says the Teacher. ‘Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.’” (Eccles. 1:1)

“Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” (Jas 4:14)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another even as I have loved you, that you also love one another, By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

(John 13:34-35)
