Relentless to Restored

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’ I remember these things and pour out my soul within me. For I used to go over with the multitude and walk them to the house of God, With a voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude celebrating a festival. Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God. My soul is in despair within me; Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me. The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life. I will say to God my rock, ‘Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?’ As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries taunt me, While they say to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’ Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.” (Ps. 42:1-11)

Remedies from restless to restored:

1. A crushed spirit is

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted. And saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Ps. 34:18) “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear it and rejoice. Exalt the Lord with me, and let’s exalt His name together. I sought the Lord and He answered me, and rescued me from all my fears.” (Ps. 34:1-4)

2. An abandoned soul is through

“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. I have sworn and I will confirm it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments. I am exceedingly afflicted; revive me, Lord, according to Your word.” (Ps. 119:105- 107)

3. A troubled heart is

“Then the Lord answered me and said, ‘Write down the vision and inscribe it clearly on tablets, So that one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hurries toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it delays, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay long.’” (Hab. 2:2-3)
