To finish well you must…
1. Your Mission.
“28 Jesus knew that his mission was now finished…” John 19:28 (NLT)
“1 Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end.” John 13:1 (NLT)
2. By The Word of God.
“28 Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.”” John 19:28 (NLT)
“21 But instead, they give me poison for food; they offer me sour wine for my thirst.” Psalm 69:21 (NLT)
“15 “If you love me, obey my commandments.” John 14:15 (NLT)
“People who finish well do not do so without the caring support of other growing members of the body of Christ.” – Kenneth Boa
“37 Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”” Matthew 22:37–40 (NLT)
“7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7 (NLT)
3. Suffering.
“30 When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:30 (NLT)
“6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. 7 He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. 8 Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. 9 He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone.” Isaiah 53:6–9 (NLT)
“10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.” Isaiah 53:10 (NLT)
