The Missing Key – Lesson 1

February 3, 2021

KINGDOM DISCIPLES
HEAVEN’S REPRESENTATIVES ON EARTH
THE MISSING KEY
Lesson 1
“When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:17-20

A KINGDOM DISCIPLE

A believer in Christ who takes part in the spiritual-development process of progressively learning how to live all of their lives under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

1. is the recognition of who He is, what he has done, and what you are trusting Him to do.

“When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.” Matthew 28:17

2. means “power in legitimate hands.”

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28:18

“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 1:22-23

3. The word make is an imperative, which means it’s a COMMAND: it’s not a request.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19a

“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household.” Matthew 10:24-25

4. Disciples are people who transfer the values of the kingdom of God.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

THREE WAYS TO MAKE DISCIPLES

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

1.

• Go and deliver the fact that Jesus Christ has come and that He has come with authority.

“Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.” Matthew 10:6

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19a

2.

• Baptism is your place of identification.

“Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:19b

3.

• The purpose of teaching is to understand or to learn what it means to be a representative.

“And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

1. When you are kingdom disciple and a kingdom-disciple maker, you get more experience of Jesus Christ than if you are not.

“Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.” John 2:23-25

You are learning the Word of God in order to use the Word of God to express the authority of the Word of God as the representative of the lordship of Jesus Christ as a kingdom disciple.
