PLANS TO DEFEAT THE ENEMIES OF GROWTH

“As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” ~ Luke 3:4

I. We must hear the voice of God to prepare the way.

A. Preparation means proceeding, measure the provision by which one prepares for something.

B. By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.” – Alexander Graham Bell

C. Growth is never automatic or guaranteed. Organizations don’t naturally drift toward growth. They drift towards complacency, complexity, and decline.

“Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.” – John Maxwell

II. Growth has four enemies:

A. Unnecessary Complexity.
Complexity is a silent killer of growth.

B. Unstable Process.
When one or more elements are not stable or in place. Vision, structure, order, and motivation for better.

C. Unhealthy Mindsets.
Unhealthy mindsets create unhealthy organizations. Pride, task aversion, stagnation, misinformation, and misjudging of reality. Competition, disinterest, distraction, apathy, and greed.

D. Undeveloped Leaders.
Underdeveloped or incapable leaders will eventually hold your team or growth back.

III. Fight for a simple structure:

A. Organization simplicity: need maximum results to achieve minimum effort and investment.

B. If an organization operates with complexity, it cannot operate with speed as successfully.

C. Never confuse activity with productivity.
