Mid-Week Bible Study

January 26, 2022

“Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. ~ Matthew 6:11-15

In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. ~ John 16:23

For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. ~ Ephesians 2:18

1. Nullify our past

It is easy to become a prisoner of the past, one bad mistake, one bad marriage or relationship, one bad decision, one lost loved one, one lost job.

Lack of forgiveness is the trap to no recovery.

A. Forgive self and others

B. Face the facts of generational curses

• Bury the hurts
• Bury the habits
• Bury the hang-ups

In the Jewish culture there was a set time for grieving.

• Moses died, there were 30 days of grieving
• Job’s children died, there were 7 days of grieving.

That doesn’t mean you will be completely over it.

2. Navigate our present

God generously provides enough for the day you need. Manna was given each day until the weekends.

God governs our day, and he alone knows our tomorrow.

A. Daily needs
B. Dedicated to vision of the right now
C. Determined to finish strong this day

3. Negotiate our possibilities

A. Request a blessed future
B. Remember rewards are for the faithful (Focus no matter what; fight no matter what)

Faith is a fight
