Lesson 8
Authority of the Holy Spirit
“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” (John 16:7)
Kingdom Authority operates in those who house the Holy Spirit. If you do not have the Holy Spirit you don’t know God and certainly can’t please God.
1. If you are saved, the Holy Spirit is within you.
2. When you are saved, you receive the Spirit of God in fullness.
To be controlled by the Holy Spirit you must do two things:
a. yourself
b. Jesus
3. Holy Spirit has one aim and that is to Jesus.
GOD’S SPIRIT IN US
1. We are until we receive the Holy Spirit.
2. The unsaved live by the of life.
3. The save live by the of life.
Three ways the Holy Spirit inhabits us…
a. Spirit of
“ because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)
b. Spirit of
“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” (Romans 8:9)
c. Spirit of
“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)
