Lesson 6 – The Authority of Jesus’ Name

Lesson 6
The Authority of Jesus’ Name

“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)

Kingdom Authority stands on the firm footing of Jesus’ name. The Divine Son of God has given authority to His children. It is kingdom authority that fits us for the battle. It is kingdom authority that will assure us per perpetual victory.

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18b KJV)

The definition of Lord includes His having both .

God gave Jesus both:

a. Power =

b. Authority = The right to act on

So, whether or not we acknowledge Him or not, does not change anything, the only thing we can do is RESPOND!

We must respond to two questions…

1. Will we His Lordship?

2. Will we to His Lordship?

God has made a big investment in us and He will protect His investment.

1. Christians are sealed with the .

2. The Spirit is the guaranteeing our salvation.

3. God has pledges to complete our , using His own Spirit as the guarantee.

“When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13b-14)

1. We do not have the luxury of a few areas of our lives that we will not to Him.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)

2. Being a Christian means in every area.

3. We must have complete in His will.

1. The only prayer that gets to heaven is the prayer which .

2. We must God’s will and then pray it back to Him.

“You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:14)

3. Learn to from heaven.

4. We need to to God and make our requests known.

5. Satan cannot keep God from , so he tries to keep us from .

My great need is not more authority but more intimacy with Jesus. But we also have to be careful never to misuse the name of Jesus—it’s dangerous. And it is equally tragic if we omit His name.

The spiritual warfare battle is won or lost in prayer, which Satan knows and he fears. Thank God that we can come boldly to the throne because of the blood.

1. Victory happens on the and then the are seen on the outside.

2. Faith allows us to .

3. Faith leads us on the .

Three Keys to Victory

• Blood conquers

• Blood cleanses

• Blood gives access

• Testify who is
• Testify who are
• Testify who is

c. Christians who are for their faith.

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” (Revelation 12:11)
