KINGDOM AUTHORITY

Lesson 4

Limits And Problems Of Kingdom Authority

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”     (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

We may be willing to submit to God, but what about all the unworthy authorities out there?

Does God really expect us to surrender to a godless government, a bad boss, or a mean mate?

  1. Spiritual Authority

“But there is a place where someone has testified: “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.” In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.”     (Hebrews 2:6-8)

    1. —a little lower than the angels; crowned with glory.
    2. We have living within us.
  1. Three Areas we have Spiritual Authority
    1. Wars Against the
    2. Wars Against the
    3. Wars Against the
  1. How to Overcome that area of temptation
    1. => Faith in God

“for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”    (1 John 5:4)

=> Flee

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”    (2 Timothy 2:22)

=> Resist the Devil

“Submit yourselves, then, to God.. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”    (James 4:7)

We must recognize Satan’s schemes for what they are, recognize our authority over them and stand firm.

UNITY vs. DIVISION

  1. Lack of unity to exercise kingdom authority.
  2. We wrongly believe that because we have authority, we can do .

What Unites Us

  1. United through a
  2. United through our

“For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”    (Acts 17:28)

  1. United through our

“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that his all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”     (2 Corinthians 4:6-7)
