Waymaker | Light In The Darkness

Where God is, there is light.

John 8:12 “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never  walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Luke 3:22 “And the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a  dove. And a voice came from Heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our  Lord.”

The light  had to experience darkness so that the darkest could experience the light.Mark 15: 33 “At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

Psalm 22:16-18 “Dogs surround me,a pack of villains encircles me;they pierce my hands and my feet. 17 All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.”Isaiah 53:3-5 “Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. 17 All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.”

If we do not first understand the gravity of the darkness, we won’t be able to grasp the goodness of the light. 

“What is the greatest obstacle between you and your salvation?”

The greatest obstacle was: the love of the father for his son! 

Romans 5:6-8 “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus was crushed for our sin.If we do not first understand the gravity of the darkness, then we won’t be able to grasp to  goodness of the light!

Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”
