A Faith that Works

The Word of God says that my victory over this world is my faith (1 John 5:4). If my victory over this world is my faith, then I think it most vital and important to know how to walk in faith. As a believer I want to know how to have a faith that works. A working faith is absolutely indispensable in my walk with God. I began by faith, I walk it out by faith and I will reach my full potential by faith. Faith is not elusive, complicated or out of reach. Faith is available to everyone who will choose to live by it.

1. By Faith we Understand. Hebrews 11:3

By faith understand and believe that the realm of the spirit is real whether we see it or not.

Hebrews 11:3 (NKJV)

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

2. By Faith we Hear & Believe.

Faith comes by hearing. Romans 10:17

Faith believes the Word of God is The Truth. 1 Thess 2:13

Faith is produced when we receive the Word of God into our hearts and mix it with faith. Hebrews 4:2

Hebrews 4:2 (NKJV)

2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

Psalms 119:160 (NKJV)

160 The entirety of Your word is truth,

And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

John 17:17 (NKJV)

17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NKJV)

13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

3. By Faith we Speak. 2 Corinthians 4:13; Romans 10:9-10

Hold fast the profession of our hope – we maintain a faith filled confession. Hebrews 10:23

Faith says what the Word of God says regardless of the external or natural factors. Romans 4:19-21

2 Corinthians 4:13 (NKJV)

13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,

Romans 10:10 (NKJV)

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

4. By Faith we Obey. James 1:22; James 2:20-23

By faith we obey the word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Faith will always require an obedience. No matter how small or insignificant, obedience is necessary for faith to work and the power of God to be activated.

James 1:22 (NKJV)

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

James 2:20 (NKJV)

20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

5. By Faith we Give Thanks. Philippians 4:6; Colossians 2:7, 4:2

By faith we give thanks to God knowing that we have the victory and the possession of the things we are believing for. Thanksgiving is the evidence that I have received what was believed for.

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Colossians 2:7 (NKJV)

7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
