How Can I Know?

We live in a world that is filled with doubt, distrust and the questioning of everything. There is one thing you can know for sure, your salvation. How? Let’s look at 1 John 5:1-13

I. V1-5 WE CAN KNOW BY AN OBEDIENT WALK

A. There must first be  before you can know for sure!

B. The new birth comes about through “” (Romans 6:17) as seen in the commands and examples of conversions in the New Testament! 

C. We are not saved by the ! We are saved by = ! 

D. Let’s be honest with ourselves, we know when we aren’t . Want to know if you are saved? Then !

II. V6-10  WE CAN KNOW BY A WITNESS OF TRUTH

A. Jesus was no that died that day. He was giving His life on that cross so that we could have eternal life!

B. Does the question of a possible addition in 1 John 5:7 mean we can’t trust the Bible? because we have more than , we know the , and it doesn’t .

C. If you will believe what about Jesus, then even more so you should believe the ! You can !

III. V11-13   WE CAN KNOW BY WHAT WHAT IS WRITTEN

A. According to V11-12, if you have obeyed the Gospel of the Lord Jesus, then you are . If you are , then you have everlasting life. But, the implication is, if you are not then you do not have everlasting life! So, the question is, “Are you ?”

B. To be saved, you must  (Revelation 2:10). You can , just like you can walk away from and destroy – you can walk away from the gift of eternal life and destroy !
