MESSAGE 3: POWER & REST
OCTOBER 18, 2020
LOMBARD BIBLE CHURCH
- Have you ever been sent out by someone to accomplish a task? (ex: sent by parents to school, church for mission trip, work for conference or job). What do you think they saw in you that made them confident enough to send you out?
- Jesus sends us out too. Read Mark 6:6-13 and Mark 6:30-32. What did you hear from the Scripture or the message this past Sunday?
- Look at Mark 6:8-9. Did Jesus send His disciples out with a lot of stuff? Why not? What did Jesus want people to be drawn to when they encountered His disciples?
- Read Mark 6:7, 12-13: Why do you think the disciples were confident to do ministry without the person of Jesus next to them? Do you think Jesus desires to minister to the world through you? Why/why not? In what way do you think Jesus wants to use you to point people to Him?
- In Mark 6:30-32, what did the disciples not take time for in the midst of ministry? What’s something you do that helps you “rest in the Lord”?
- Challenge: Think of one person Jesus might be “sending you out” to point them to the love of Jesus. Who is it? Share with a friend or someone you trust and pray about how God wants you to minister to that person.
