DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Think of a time in your life you felt really welcomed. Why did you feel that way? 
2. In the Scriptures, Jesus welcomes & accepts sinners to find a relationship with Himself. Read Luke 5:27-32. What did you hear from the Scripture or the message this past Sunday? 
3. Read 1 Timothy 1:15. This verse is a short summary of the “gospel” (news) of Jesus. Is it important for a church to preach the gospel every Sunday? Why/why not? What do you wish everyone knew about the gospel? How does the way you welcome/accept people affect the gospel? 
4. Read Luke 5:32. Why did Jesus come, or what is Jesus’ mission according to this verse? In what ways is our church on that same mission? How could you be more on mission?
5. According to Romans 2:4, what is God’s kindness intended to lead us to?  Have you ever seen someone accept the gospel after they felt kindly welcomed or accepted? Tell the story. 
6. Who around you needs Jesus? Write one name down. What are you going to do about it? 
7. Ask, “how can I pray for you?”
