July 5, 2020   /   Living Word Family Church

Matthew 4:17

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Matthew 17:15-18

“Lord, HAVE MERCY on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.” 17 “You UNBELIEVING and PERVERSE generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.

HAVE MERCY

2 Reasons we Struggle with Authority.

  1. UNBELIEVING
  2. PERVERSE

Do we base our theology on our experience or on what the Word of God says?

Jesus came to teach us how to exercise our Kingdom Authority

Law of Having What We Say

Mark 11:23

23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

Number 14:2,28

28 So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say:

Proverbs 6:2

2 you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth.

Proverbs 18:21

21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Isaiah 57:19a

19 creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the Lord. “And I will heal them.”

Law of Faith Operation

Mark 11:23

23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

Romans 4:17

17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

Matthew 8:5-8

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Kingdom: A country ruled by a King or Queen

Empire: Group of countries ruled by one ruler.

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7  Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

Psalm 138:2b (NKJV)

for you have magnified Your word above all Your name.”

Mark 6:5-6

He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 He was amazed at their lack of faith.

Romans 10:10

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Matthew 16:19

Matthew 8:10-13

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

Matthew 8:9

For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
