Sons vs Servants

Bottom Up flow chart

Psalm 127:1-5
Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.

Psalm 127:1-5
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

God is the builder of the house (Church)

God Builds with the children, not servants

Hebrews 3:5-6
Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be said in the future. But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.

Sons: an heir or a sense of ownership
Servants: a hireling/ doesn’t take ownership

John 10:12-13
The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

Sons: Come to support the Vision
Servants: Always come with their own vision.

Luke 16:12
And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

Sons: Will stand and ride out the storm…
Servants: Will Jump ship when things get hard.

Sons: Share their heart with their leader
Servants: Withhold their heart and feelings

Servants: Reveal Cracks
Sons: Fill in Cracks

Sons: Come with Puppy feet
Servants – come full grown
