Titus– “An ‘All-Around’ Good Christian!”

Titus 2:11-12 (NCV) page 2069

That is the way we should live, because God’s grace that can save everyone has come. It teaches us not to live against God nor to do the evil things the world wants to do. Instead, that grace teaches us to live in the present age in a wise and right way and in a way that shows we serve God.

SACRIFICE OR COMMITMENT?

  • Serving God at church involves some .
  • Serving God in ALL of my life takes .
  • What of your life have you not committed to Jesus?

SERVING GOD AT WORK.

Titus 2:9-10 (NCV) page 2069

Slaves should yield to their own masters at all times, trying to please them and not arguing with them. They should not steal from them but should show their masters they can be fully trusted so that in everything they do they will make the teaching of God our Savior attractive.

  • Serving God often means to authority. (yield, obey)
  • Believers submit to the , not the , as an act of faith in the sovereignty of God.
  • What does God ask us to commit to at ?
    • Try to your boss;
    • Don’t be looking for an argument;
    • Don’t what’s not yours;
    • Be an employee who can be .
  • Your actions as an employee either people to or from the Gospel.

SERVING GOD AT CITY HALL.

Titus 3:1-2 (NCV) page 2069

Remind the believers to yield to the authority of rulers and government leaders, to obey them, to be ready to do good, to speak no evil about anyone, to live in peace, and to be gentle and polite to all people.

  • I will , , to governmental authority as long as Biblically possible.
  • I will no evil – to blaspheme or rail.
  • I will live in being gentle and polite.

LIVE LIKE THAT!

Titus 2:13–14 (NCV) page 2069

We should live like that while we wait for our great hope and the coming of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us so he might pay the price to free us from all evil and to make us pure people who belong only to him—people who are always wanting to do good deeds.

  • Because this is not there is!
  • Because Jesus died to set us from who we were.
  • Because I want everyone to know who I to.
  • Because He wants me to be not .
