Part 2: Me, Myself and I

Joshua 7

Sometimes our worst enemy is ourselves. Me, Myself, and I occupy the head space. They use the same brain you use in thinking destructive thoughts. This enemy within can do more harm than any other.

Romans 7:18, “And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.d I want to do what is right, but I can’t. 19I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. NLT

There are some lessons here in the story for us to learn – as Joshua learned to defeat his enemy within. To start with … We must

1. Stop God

Me, Myself, and I Critique:

1. Where did I go ?

2. What was I ?

3. is really to blame?

4. How can I so it doesn’t happen again?

2. Stop Focusing on .

Psalm 43:5, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

1. Joshua had become Conscious instead of Conscious.

2. We can’t allow setbacks to keep us from for our life.

3. Forget about the defeat and continue on! Your – for a .

Philippians 3:13 – Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

3. Stop Worrying About

In 7:9, Joshua is worrying about what everyone else was going to say, how they would respond when they heard that Israel had suffered a setback. Joshua says, “for the Canaanites will hear about this.”

Joshua 8:1-2;18-19

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 – But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in not in vain in the Lord.
