Plug Into Truth

June 20, 2021   /   Pastor Dennis Beatty   /   Psalms 119   /   Laurelwood Baptist Church

The Bible is the book you want to be in because it…

Nourishes you

How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord. Psalm 119: 1, 2, 8

Empowers you

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word. Psalm 119: 9, 74, 81, 114, 147

Works for you

Thy word I have treasured in my heart that I may not sin against Thee. Psalm 119: 11, 57, 60, 100, 112

Yields truth for you

Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Thy law. Psalm 119: 18, 9, 105, 130

Enlightens your path

I am a stranger in the earth; do not hide Thy commandments from me. Psalm 119: 19, 1, 2, 98

Authenticates your faith

I shall run the way of Thy commandments, for Thou wilt enlarge my heart. Psalm 119: 32, 89, 111, 152

Renews your journey

Thy statutes are my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. Psalm 119: 54, 7, 48 , 172

Sharpens your focus

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn Thy statutes. Psalm 119: 71

Disciplines your attitude

I know, O Lord, that Thy judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness Thou hast afflicted me. Psalm 119: 75

Attracts you to truth

I hate those who are double-minded, but I love Thy law. Psalm 119: 113, 11, 23, 97, 99

Yields treasure to you

I rejoice at Thy word, as one who finds great spoil. Psalm 119: 162

What?

Read the Bible every day.

So what?

Modify the time of day and location until you find the circumstances that are best for you.

Now what?

Set “catch up” days if you miss a few days due to illness or extra time at work.

Fantastic promise. Christ said: “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask what you will and it shall be done.”
