Week of October 20, 2019

Ken Sande, author of Peacemaker, recently said that Christians often think of the Gospel as two doors. The door of conversion by which we are saved, and the door of heaven, that assures us where we will go when we die. He went on to say, that many Christians live in between those two doors according to the law. Could that be true? Could many of us be living life today, knowing we are saved and going to heaven, but the truth of the Gospel is not affecting our lives today? The Apostle Paul uses the life of Abraham to show us what justification by faith looks like in our lives today. Join us this Sunday as we look at “Living Between The Two Doors”.

Justification is about , not works (John 14:6)

Justification is about resurrection not human effort (Philippians 4:13)

Questions for Reflection

“The two doors of the Gospel”, The Conversion door- salvation. at the beginning, The Heaven Door- assurance of salvation; but living life in the middle according to the Law. Have you seen that in the lives of other Christians? How have you seen it in your own life?
“Justification is about faith, not works”. Are you more often believing in God and His promises or others and your own circumstances? Share an example of both
“Justification is about grace, not law”. As God has declared you righteous by faith, is there someone you need to forgive by faith?
“Justification is about resurrection power, not human effort”. What promises has God given you in His word? What do you need to trust God for today? Health, finances, relationships…
