Follow Your Dreams, They Know The Way [PART 3]

The world of visions and dreams is the realm of the 4th dimension, the realm of the Holy Spirit. We have been learning about dreams from the life of Jacob.

Genesis 30:43

As a result, Jacob became very wealthy, with large flocks of sheep and goats, female and male servants, and many camels and donkeys.

1. You have to know

Last week we spoke about the need for details in your vision and dream.  

2. You must keep

You have to wrestle with God and hold on to him till you have changed.  If the Dream giver doesn’t change you the dream will destroy you.  

How to do you tell the difference between your desires and God’s desires? Only God’s will is Gods bill.  God does not pick up the tab for your dreams, he only picks up the tab for the dreams he gives you.  

How does he give you dreams:  by instilling desire into your heart.  

1. There are some seeds that only a fire can germinate.  Serotinous seeds like those found in Bansia in Australia and Pine trees are triggered to grow because of fire.  God’s dreams for us are the same. They can only be activated by fire.  The fire of God, the presence of God.  It’s why prayer meetings are so important!

This topic is dangerous. Arousing desire is the result of a fire.  You need to make sure it’s the right fire.

2 Timothy 2:22

Flee evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, 

Psalm 37:4.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

God gives me the desires of my heart, (my inner man) not the desires of my eyes, but if i don’t fill my eyes with godly things, I will think the desires i have in my soul are really the desires of my inner man, my heart.

3. You have to know how to

There are many things and people who will try and diminish destroy and deter you from your dream. Replace the gallery of negative pictures with positive ones. 

4. You have to know how to

At the end of the day, it was the sheep who held the key.  They had to get the revelation too, in order for the miracle to happen. Not only do you need a personal revelation, but you need to impregnate your environment with an expectation of the supernatural.

Jacob didn’t just make a model for himself, he filled his circumstances with the expectation of change.

Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink, they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

He began to influence his environment to change. He began to impregnate his environment with an atmosphere of change. What atmosphere are you creating for your family?

Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink.

This was the place where the sheep would come day after day to drink.  It was a place of influence.  At watering troughs people are able to be influenced. Where they go for their inspiration for work.

In church life some of the watering troughs are our church meetings, small groups, homogenous groups.

• What are the watering troughs in your family, your business your marriage. 

Name 3 places or times where you can significantly influence the thinking of your staff or customers:

Jacob was smart.  He didn’t put the branches where the cattle weren’t going to go or be.  He chose the place of greatest influence.

EG:  A lot of companies write their vision and job goals and then stick it away somewhere.

Others just tell their staff once, and expect it to happen automatically.

NB:  I’ve discovered that people take 9-12 months to get a new idea.

It is no point hiding the vision somewhere where people can’t see it. 

Every watering trough in your environment needs to be a place that speaks the vision and puts it front of the people.

Then he placed the peeled branches in ALL the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink.

He didn’t put the vision in front of just a few of the sheep.  He put it in ALL the troughs.  Everywhere and every time the sheep came to drink, the vision was in front of them.  If they wanted a drink, they had to look at the vision.  You need to publish the vision in a place where people have to look at it.

It says he put these BRANCHES in water.

Why didn’t he put it BY the troughs. Why in? The reason was to keep the vision fresh. These branches would have withered and died easily because they had been stripped and were now subject to the elements. He put them in the water to keep them fresh.

It’s so easy to start with a bang and then just fizzle out after a few weeks.  It must remain fresh or it won’t work.

HOW TO KEEP THE VISION FRESH

The challenge to you and I is how to keep the vision fresh.

This is one of your greatest challenges as a manager or owner of a business. How do I keep the vision fresh.

They need to be able to see it continually, and obviously.

The next thing that Jacob did was look for sheep in heat.

Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink, they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

People who have reproductive capacity. Must spend time looking for those with the ability to reproduce themselves.  

Genesis 30:41

Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches,

Everybody has that capacity, but they each come into heat at different times.  We need to be there to put the vision in front of such people, so they reproduce.

There’s a saying that says that seeing is believing. I have a better one, one that’s true. 

Seeing is being.

The key to being is seeing.

What you see is what you’ll be.

What your staff can see is what they will be.

What do you want them to see.  

Write down what you want your FAMILY to see when they think about HOME When they think of the future in your business, what do you want them to see.  

What are they seeing when you go into work.  What revelation about the future of the company and their part in it do they see as a result of your contact .  If you come into their experience and show them something it will cause reproduction.

We must communicate the vision under the anointing until they SEE.  

When they see, they will be.

I’ve watched my kids change in front of my eyes.  i think every kid needs 5 encounters with Jesus before they are an adult to stay the course.  

Church we need to rise up and take hold of our land.  

Jacob had lived the same way for 20 years, and seemed to get nowhere.  He decided things had to change.  God was with him, but he had to make some changes.

For others, you have had dreams, but it seems like nothing is coming of them.  The truth is that everyday we have a world trying to rob us of our dream.  Trying to steal away your risk taking daring.  Trying to sabotage and gnaw away at the faith of God in your life.  Trying to tell you, it won’t work.  Be natural, think naturally, don’t dream, don’t seek God for revelation.  Don’t do it God’s way.  Look what happens when you listen to the preacher and give, Nothing.
