John 21: 1- 3

John 21: 4-6

  1. Remember the Source of your breakthrough

John 21: 7 – 8

John 8:36

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

  1. Recognize your part in the process

John 21: 9

When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

John 21:10 – 11

Aristotle believed there were 153 species of fish in his time

  1. Receive what you need

Matthew 14:29

29 Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”

John 21: 15 – 16

John 21:17

Peter was hurt means to make sorrowful, to mourn

2 Corinthians 7:10

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Godly sorrow leads to freedom

Breakdown before breakthrough

Mark 14: 70-72

A little later some of the other bystanders confronted Peter and said, “You must be one of them, because you are a Galilean.”

71 Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying—I don’t know this man you’re talking about!”72 And immediately the rooster crowed the second time.

Curse = anathematize = to devote to destruction

Your past may remind you, but it doesn’t define you.
