The Kingdom of God – Part 9

April 18, 2021 / Matthew 20:1-16 1-16

How would you respond to being paid the same for 12 hours of work, as those who worked only 2 hours?

What do you think about this quote?

“Only God can judge if someone is good or bad. Our work is to lead with forgiveness of people regardless. This is how God treated us, so it’s how we treat our self and others.”

Describe the difference between personal and impersonal judgment.

How do you respond to this Puritan prayer:

Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly, you have brought me to the valley of vision, where I live in the depths but see you in the heights; hemmed in by mountains of sin, I behold your grace. Let me learn by paradox, that the way down, is the way up, that to be low, is to be high, that the broken heart, is the healed heart, that the contrite spirit, is the rejoicing spirit, that the repenting soul, is the victorious soul, that to possess nothing, is to possess all, that to bear the cross, is to wear the crown, that to give, is to receive, that the valley, is the place where I see you most clearly. Lord, lift up my eyes to the heights. Let me find your light in my darkness, your life in my death, your joy in my sorrow, your grace, in my sin, your riches, in my poverty, your vision, in my valley.

What do you think about how Jesus dealt with Peter in John 21 when he was asking about what would happen to John?
