PEOPLE SKILLS #3

We are who we spend time with.

Created to thrive into relationship with each other.

The key to be interesting and interested.

All of us reflect something about God to each other.

Luke 2:46 Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions.

3 KEYS TO BEING INTERSTING AND INTERESTED

1. CURIOUS

  • We become focused on understanding what we have already been through.

How many times did Jesus ask a question in the gospels?

John 1:38 What do you want?

Matt 21:28 But what do you think about this?

Matt 16:13 Who do people say that the Son of Man is?

Matt 20:32 What do you want me to do for you?

Mark 7:18 Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you?

John 5:6 When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”

2. COMMITTED

If you are not committed to something, you will not add value; you will not be interesting.

Luke 19:10 ”For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

3. HUMBLE

Humility is not thinking less about yourself; it is thinking about yourself less.

Phil 2:3-4 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Helps us be interested in others and, in the process, we become interesting – we become like Jesus.
