Winning the War in Your Mind
2 Cor 10:4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
Rom 8:5-6 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Worry is a distrust in God’s power and a disbelief in His promises.
HOW DO WE DANCE THROUGH FEAR AS THE SPIRIT LEADS US?
- WE REJOICE IN THE WHO, NOT IN THE WHAT
Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, rejoice.
Sometimes praise needs to come before the victory – worship not for what He can give, but for who He is.
- WE RECOGNIZE WHO IS THERE
Phil 4:5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;
Joshua 1:5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.
2 Cor 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
3. WE RELY ON GOD THROUGH PRAYER
Phil 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
4. WE REST IN PEACE
Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
