A Place at the Table
Mark 10, 1 Corinthians 12:20-25 (Gospel in Motion) May 15, 2021
I. God has given our church a unique opportunity this year to have a Senior Sunday and to host our seniors and the rest of Cayuga’s graduating class this year at the Baccalaureate.
- So this morning will be a charge to the church and this afternoon will be a charge to the Graduates.
- And to set this charge up, I want to think about a big family gathering with two tables (kid’s table and adult’s table).
- I often get asked….why do youth not come on Sunday Morning?
- I don’t believe its because they are too busy….too distracted….or don’t care!
- I BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS THAT THEY DON’T HAVE A SHARED IDENTITY WITH THE CHURCH.
II. Teenagers are leaving the church at alarming rates.
- Training and investing in those younger than us is part of the mission of the Church!
III. For the church to thrive, everyone needs a place at the table
- However, the goal is to not just set at their table….
- The Goal is to invest in their lives, love them and to show them that they have a spot at THE table.
- SO the charge is to be crazy Aunts and Crazy Uncles!….Lets put the tables together!
