Authority and Access

Pursuing Prayer

February 14, 2021

* Salvation brings to the believer the privilege of entering the very presence of God. A relationship with Jesus brings the full authority of His sonship. We have been granted access to the throne room of God.

Prayer is the divinely authorized methodology
to access heavenly authority for earthly intervention.

* Pursuing Prayer is the most underused source of accessing spiritual authority that God has given us.

* Prayer is based on your intimacy with God. It is not about when you pray, what words you say, or even about how you pray. It is about authority.

What Does It Look Like To Pursue God In Prayer?

1.  Prayer above all else is to be .

1 Thessalonians 5:16

The ingredients of effective prayer:

* faith   *authority   *surrender   *obedience   *tenacity   *trust

Ephesians 6:18 ESV

2. Prayer signifies to Him that we are interested in from Him.

God knows that if we live our lives connected

to Him we will live the most satisfying of lives.

3. Prayer allows God to execute His authority through our lives.

  • God exercises his authority over this world in the dominion He gave to mankind.

Dominion Covenant:

Genesis 1:26      Rev. 20:1-3

  • Prayer, however; is the tool that God gave us to harness Satan’s power. The idea is that God in his power can do with lesser.
  • Bowing your heart and mind to God in prayer unleashes the power of God. It lets His power loose.

4.  While God is sovereign and all powerful, he has delegated relative to humanity to exercise dominion.

Big Idea: Pursuing prayer let’s advance God’s agenda: The rule of man through prayer is a visible picture of God’s rule over all creation.

Pray as Paul says, “pray always”, I Thessalonians 5:16 and “pray everywhere” I Timothy 2:8
