Learning to Lose

“It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn from your decrees.” Psalm 119:71

Do you want to gain the whole world or lose your life for Christ?

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” Mark 1:17

When you lose your life for Jesus you ultimately save it.

Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? Luke 9:24-25

Jesus handed death it’s final defeat so that we may have eternal life.

“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” – Jim Elliot
