“The Lord God Called” – Genesis 3:1-6, 9, 15
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
All of us are born as sinners because the first people in the long line of humanity sinned.
I. It Began With
Genesis 3:1-5 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, nd did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
All of this was intended to sow seeds of discontentment which ultimately led to sin. And discontentment, which essentially consists of unmet expectations, has been fighting families ever since.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
We have to keep our eyes on Jesus.
II. It Continued With
Genesis 3:8-9 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
When we chose to seek to live out family relationships apart from God’s purpose and process, we will find a diminishing fellowship with God that weakens the family unit.
Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Ecclesiastes 4:9a Two are better than one.
Ecclesiastes 4:12b And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Thankfully God’s Word is clear on the reality that once you are born again by faith into God’s family you are forever in His family.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
III. It Culminated In

Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts:

Psalm 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction.
God created the family. And when we welcome Him into our lives and our homes, we find all we need to truly experience a bit of heaven on earth.
