GALATIANS | PART 3 – LIVING IN GRACE | 05.09.21

Galatians 3:1-3 (NLT) Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

Galatians 3:10 (NIV) All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

James 2:10 (NIV) For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

The law couldn’t .

Galatians 3:19 (NIV) What, then, was the purpose of the law?

Galatians 3:24-25 (NIV) So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

The law leads us .

Galatians 3:24 (NLT) The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith.

1. Grace is a free .
Romans 6:23 (NIV) The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

2. Grace is by faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 4:16 (NCV) People receive God’s promise by having faith.

3. Grace is to everyone.

Romans 10:13 (NIV) Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

4. Grace comes only through .

John 1:17 (NIV) For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:15 (NCV) … many people have received God’s gift of life by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 (NIV) Jesus answered, “ I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12 (NIV) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Galatians 2:21 (NLT) Don’t treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die.

5. Grace is extended throughout .

John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

THE RESULT

Titus 2:11-12 (NIV) For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

Grace: When what you becomes what you .
