I am a good person, why do I “need” God?

Romans 3:10 – There is no one righteous, not even one.

δίκαιος – dikaios [DI-KI-OS] – innocent, faultless, guiltless

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Luke 18:19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.”

Romans 5:6-96 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Corinthians 5:21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Matthew 7:24-28 – Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.
