The Lord Has Not STopped Showing His Kindness

Judges 19, 20 and 21,  and Ruth

Psalms 11:3  When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?

> they dig deeper to the bedrock of Jesu Christ!

After the people of Israel came into the promised land and with each passing generation, the people seemed to know less and less about God.  With every passing generation, fewer and fewer of the people acknowledged God as the source of all their blessings.  With the passing of each generation, there was less and less interest in knowing the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Do you know people who do not acknowledge God but had parents or grand parents who were strong believers in Christ?

In Judges 19:1   In those days Israel had no king,

Do you know of examples that show that a good leader helps his communities, and when leadership is missing society falls apart?

Judges 21:25   the book of Judges concludes with this statement:  “In those days Israel had no king, and everyone did as he saw fit.”

If everyone does their own brand of justice is there unity in the community?

Judges 19; The Levite’s concubine is given over to wicked people and murdered.

Judges 19:30   “Such a thing has never been seen or done, not since the day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. Just imagine! We must do something! So speak up!”

Other translations say “Tell us what to do”.   Our nation needs help, they need leaders to tell them what to do!

Judges 20 The Israelites Punish the Benjamites

“What about this awful crime that was committed among you? 13 Now turn those wicked men of Gibeah over to us so that we may put them to death and purge the evil from Israel.”    But the Benjamites would not listen to their fellow Israelites.

Do you know of crimes that are intentionally over looked in our days?

Judges 21  The Israelies make Peace with the Benjamites

It seems like more injustices were done until the conclusion of the book of Judges.   And the Book closes with this statement:   25 In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.

What injustices do you know of going on in our days?

The Book of Ruth:   Ruth 2:20  “He has not stopped showing His kindness to the living and the dead.”

God is still good, and wants to do good for those who will turn to him.

Are you willing to trust the Lord today?
