Games:   Battleship

Matt 18:15    Ephes 6:10-18

The game of Battleship reminds us of what often happens in the midst of everyday life –

Often when we feel ,  we respond in either a fight or flight mode

By our own we often set ourselves up for conflict

What does tell us to do with conflict?

“If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. Matt 18:15 (NLT2)

Jesus invites us to go to the person with our hurt

Why did you slip away secretly? Why did you steal away? And why didn’t you say you wanted to leave? I would have given you a farewell feast, with singing and music, accompanied by tambourines and harps. 28 Why didn’t you let me kiss my daughters and grandchildren and tell them good-bye? You have acted very foolishly! Gen.  31:27-28 (NIV)

In classic Christian theology the main of the soul are the world,  the flesh and the devil

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33 (NIV)

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (ESV)

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Galatians 6:8 (ESV)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 (NIV)

Because of Jesus’ life,  death and resurrection,   we have and from on high

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV)

12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.   Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.   Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)

Using imagery from a Roman soldier’s armor,   Paul describes how we can do battle

If we claim it and use it,  we have authority, power and spiritual armor from God to do
