“The Right Perspective” Philippians 1

What do you know about the book of Philippians? Here are a few helpful starters to understanding the background of the book:

 

Philippians:

  • A very personal letter.
  • A prison letter (along with Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon)
  • The book contains a motif or theme of joy.
  • This may very well be Paul’s letter to his favorite church (deep affection).
  • Paul came to Philippi as a part of his second missionary journey around 51-52 A.D.
  • Written from Rome during Paul’s first imprisonment (59-61 A.D.)

 

In the first chapter of the book, Paul shares some great insights about a person’s perspective in life.
