PROVIDENCE: God’s Intervention

John 3:16-17 (MSG) This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.

  1. David  it.

1 Samuel 18:5 — Whatever mission Saul sent him on, David was so successful that Saul gave him a high rank in the army. This pleased all the troops, and Saul’s officers as well.

1 Samuel 18:10b-11 — Saul had a spear in his hand and he hurled it, saying to himself, “I’ll pin David to the wall.” But David eluded him twice.

1 Samuel 18:14 — In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him.

  1. Saul  it.

1 Samuel 18:9 — And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David.

  1. God  it.

1 Samuel 18:12 — Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David but had departed from Saul.
