Paul now introduces another picture – .

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; Romans 12:10a NASB

The word “brother” or “sister” means – “from the same ”.

It means believers, members of family.

So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Ephesians 2:19 NLT

God had already decided that through Jesus Christ he would make us his children—this was his pleasure and purpose. Ephesians 1:5 GNT

“Body” = “Family” =

There Is Good News And Bad News.

The bad news is that people often grow up not knowing what it feels like to be , loved , and made to feel .

They have not learned to .

The good news is God the church – the of God to be a place where and healing can happen.

For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in  their midst.”
Matthew 18:20 NASB

Question: Can the church bring healing and health to people who have been thoroughly ?

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; Romans 12:10a NASB

Some Godly Steps In The Right Direction

1st Take what the Bible says about “brotherly love”.

Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more. 1 Thess. 4:9-10 NIV

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Hebrews 13:1-3 NIV

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 1 Peter 1:22-23 NIV

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9 NIV

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 1 Peter 1:5-7 NIV

2nd Ask – what are your and toward other members of your “Christian family”?

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Rom. 12:15: NIV

Why do we find it difficult to express ?

  • Do I fear ?
  • What is my background?
  • Am I and ?
  • Do I often on ?
