Action Guide

Think about it…

This week, we talked about Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus Christ. When Mary was just a young teenager, an angel appeared to her and told her that she would have a baby and that He would be the Son of God. Mary knew this was physically impossible, as she had never been with a man, and she knew that she would face significant social repercussions and potentially lose her relationship with her fiancé, Joseph, because of how the pregnancy would appear. But in faith, she submitted to God and said, “May your word to me be fulfilled.” If Mary were here today, she would encourage us to follow God outside our comfort zone, saying, “Don’t miss your moment with God.”

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” – Mark 10:27

Talk about it…

  • Talk about a time when God challenged you to move outside your comfort zone. What hesitations did you have, and how did you overcome them? Share the results.
  • Discuss this quote: “Miracles happen when our willingness to trust God intersects with God’s plan.” What mindset might keep us from seeing miracles happen in our lives? How can we overcome this mindset?
  • God has blessing waiting for us on the other side of our obedience. Talk about a time where you saw this to be true in your own life. How did God bless your obedience?

Pray about it…

  • Thank God that He is more powerful than you can comprehend. Praise Him because nothing is too hard for Him! Ask God to show you the ways in which He has created you to make a difference. Pray for courage to step outside your comfort zone, and thank Him for His promise to never leave you. Ask Him to help you overcome any mental obstacles you have when it comes to the impossible, and pray to see God do miracles in your life.

Act on it…

  • Join This Weeks Reading Plan by clicking here: Mary The Mother of Jesus
  • Call someone who has been a voice of encouragement to you and say, “Thanks!”
  • Spend some time “…thinking of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
  • Try to invest just 5 minutes in solitude and silence each day this week.
  • Memorize: (Hebrews 12:1 NIV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
