Get Out of the Boat

July 12, 2020 / Josh Talamo

Matthew 14:28-30 NIV 28  “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29  “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30  But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Matthew 25:24-27 NIV 24  “Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25  So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ 26  “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27  Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

2 Corinthians 6:17 NIV 17  “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”

Hebrews 13:16 NIV 16  And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

eparate & acrifice

1 John 3:16-17 NIV 16  This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17  If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

ime

Philippians 2:3 NIV 3  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

ttitude

Ephesians 4:12-16 NIV 12  to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13  until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16  From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

1 Timothy 6:12 NIV 12  Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
