BE THE CHURCH Part 2: How To Pray Like The Church

May 17, 2020

Who and what are they mostly about?

  1. Us
  2. Our family
  3. Sick people we know
  1. 3,000 people embraced Jesus as Messiah.
  2. Peter and John healed a guy lame man.
  3. Peter preached again and 5000 men were saved.
  4. The temple leaders had them thrown in jail.

Acts 4:12-13

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved.” 13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.

How would we respond?

What would we pray?

Acts 4:29

Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

What would happen if we prayed with boldness.?

Acts 4:31-32

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

Be the church that

  1. Reaches people far from God
  2. Makes disciples
  3. Pray big prayers

The way we pray is an indication of where our heart is.

“Enable me to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Jesus.”
