Big Thought Today: Change Your Posture
Just like good physical posture is beneficial for our health, right thinking is beneficial for our health as well. God tells us in His word to set our mind on things above so that we’ll have the right focus today & hope for our future.
1. Prepare For Action
We all have a purpose in God’s great plan. If we’re not careful, things in life, sin, distractions & so on, can slow us down & lead us away from His plan. We need to lay those things aside, so that we’ll be ready when He calls on us. 1 Peter 1:13-15, Hebrews 12:1, 1 Corinthians 13:11
2. Pay Attention
When you slouch physically, your attention is toward the ground & not your surroundings. When you slouch in your mind (focusing on the wrong things), your attention is drawn away from God’s purpose in your life. 1 Peter 1:13, 1 Peter 5:8
3. Position Your Anticipation
It’s easy to get discouraged when focused just on the here & now, especially if we’re going through a hard time. As we’re walking out this part of our journey, let’s keep in mind the next part of journey & the blessed hope we have in Jesus & eternity with Him in Heaven. 1 Peter 1:13, Philippians 3:20, 2 Corinthians 4:14, 16-18
Next Steps
1. “What is Jesus speaking to me through this teaching today?”
2. “How can I apply this to my life?”
3. “Who can I share what I’ve learned today with?”
