Big Thought Today: The Money Talk

Luke 16:9-11 “Here’s the lesson:  Use your worldly resources to benefit others & make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.  10  If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.  11  & if you are untrustworthy with worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?”

1.  Money is For Mission

While we have money to supply for our family’s needs, God also blesses us with money to fulfill our Mission which is to ‘Bring People to Life in Christ’.  Luke 16:9

2.  Money is a Proving Ground

Faithfulness with earthly wealth shows that we can be trusted with Heaven’s true riches.  Luke 16:10-11, Ephesians 3:8

3.  Money Reveals Our Heart

Many think that money corrupts people but money simply reveals what’s in their heart & provides a way for them to act it out.  Mark 7:21-22, 2 Samuel 11:1-21, Psalm 51:10

4.  Money Provides

Money is not the answer for everything, but in God’s plan, money helps to provide for ministry to help those in need & share the Gospel.  Ecclesiastes 10:19, 1 Chronicles 22:7-14
