Thanksgiving Series Message: “No-Know-Seek”
October 13, 2019
There are times when it is necessary for a parent to say NO to their child, for the benefit of the child. This applies even more profoundly to God saying NO to us.
Three of the many examples of when God said NO in Scripture
– could not go into the Promise Land
could not build the temple
was not healed of his “thorn in the flesh.”
God is and all
God is sovereign, that is; He reigns over all things
He is all-wise and all powerful; which in this context means His ways are perfect.
Psalm 147:5 (NLT); How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!
Matthew 19:26 (NLT); Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
His power contradict His .
Colossians 3:10 (NLT); Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.
2 Peter 1:2 (NLT); May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
Becoming a believer is ; it takes , and on our part.
Can you truly say yes to the following verses?
Philippians 3:10 (NLT); I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, sharing in His death,
Philippians 3:11 (NLT) so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
There is onlyway to get to that point of commitment.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT); Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
we need includes when we need a and everything we need is definitely everything we unless all we want is of Jesus!
No Peaceknow peace
Isaiah 55:6 (NLT); Seek the Lord while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near.
