The Gospel of John: Part 7 (Sara) April 10, 2022

Palm Sunday

John 11 & 12 (NLT)

John 12:12-19 (NLT)

John 11:45-57 (NLT)

God can, and does, use the most unlikely of people and circumstances to accomplish His ultimate plans.

John 12:1, 9-11 (NLT)

“Six days before the Passover celebration began, Jesus arrived in Bethany, the home of Lazarus – the man he had raised from the dead…When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus raised from the dead. Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus too, for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus.”

What important lessons are we not learning, or what miracles are we missing, because we are distracted by unmet expectations, because others are not following our rules, or we have our focus in the wrong place?

Psalm 118:22-28,

24 This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Please, Lord, please save us.
Please, Lord, please give us success.
26 Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord.
27 The Lord is God, shining upon us.
Take the sacrifice and bind it with cords on the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will praise you!
You are my God, and I will exalt you!

“Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the LORD! Hail to the King of Israel!” (John 12:13)

What bigger picture may we be struggling to embrace because we are so focused on our immediate context and needs?

How can we show Jesus, our King, honor and praise today and every day?

Who can you invite to join the celebration?
