Goliath Must Fall – Wk. 6

  • 1 Samuel 17:31-40
  • 1 Samuel 18:10-11
  • 1 Samuel 19:9-10
  • 1 Samuel 20:32-33

Observations:

1. Most addiction is an attempt to some sort of pain or that we’re not willing to let see.

2. Our fear of being is what makes addiction such a cycle.

The Pattern of Addiction

Vulnerability makes us feel weak, and weakness makes us try to cover up and cope; and when we try to cover up and cope, we run to an addiction.

  • 1 Samuel 21:10

3. Our key to is with God.

  • 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Application:

1. Turn to and be .

2. Tell a trusted .

3. Clearly your three .

“When your marriage or your ministry or your career or your friends cease to be fun, you will seek pleasure somewhere else. If you do not actively observe what your positive releases are and prioritize them, you’ll be more vulnerable to the Enemy’s suggestions. Your self-discipline may keep you from certain sins for a time, but when you are tired, frustrated, or feel a sense of entitlement, the Enemy will solicit your mind with illicit alternatives, and you will be primed for a fall.”
