TWO VIEWS OF MONEY
Luke 16:9-15

The World’s View Of Money
Money Gives Me
Money Can Get Me
Money Defines
Money Can Give Me
Money Is The To My Problems
Money Can Help Me Do More Things

1 Timothy 6:7-10 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

God’s View Of Money

Matthew 25:14 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone.

Matthew 25:19 “After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money.

Are Determined By How We Handle Money

Luke 16:9 Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.

Luke 12:43 If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.

Luke 19:16-17 The first servant reported, ‘Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!’ “‘Well done!’ the king exclaimed. ‘You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’

Is Demonstrated By How We Handle Money Faithful In Little Things

Luke 16:10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

Luke 19:26 “ ‘Yes,’ the king replied, ‘and to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.

Faithful In True Riches

Luke 16:11 And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?

Ecclesiastes 5:10 Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!

1 Timothy 6:6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.

Faithful In Godly Things

Luke 16:12 And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.

Psalm 50:10-12 For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

Is Disclosed By How We Handle Money

Luke 16:13-15 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.” The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, heard all this and scoffed at him. Then he said to them, “You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.
