TOPIC: TIME MANAGEMENT-FULFILLING YOUR GOD ORDAINED DESTINY!

1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. 2 Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. 3 You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.” 4 A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night. 5 Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—they are like the new grass of the morning: 6 In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered. 7 We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation. 8 You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence. 9 All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan. 10 Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away. 11 If only we knew the power of your anger! 10 Time Management Truths:

1. Jesus guarded His devotional life 

 “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35 (NIV)

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:16 (NIV) 

“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God.” Luke 6:12 (NIV) 

2. Jesus was not driven by the expectations of others  

“Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.” Colossians 3:24 NLT 

3. Jesus had a clear mission 

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”  Luke 4:18 NIV 

4. Jesus established priorities  

“At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” Luke 4:42-43 NIV

 “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever”? 1 Timothy 5:8 

5. Jesus made time for individuals

7. Jesus chose his company 

 “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 

8. Jesus recognized the need for rest 

“Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.” Matthew 8:24 NIV 

 “Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.” Mark 6:31 NLT 

9. Jesus was never idle 

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 NIV

10. Jesus did not sin 

tells us that we are to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we are to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. Psalm 119:9 (NLT)

What is sin? 

• Sin is when we don’t meet God’s standard 
• Sin is when our words, deeds or desires are in opposition to the eternal law of God 
• Sin is rebellion against God 
• Sin involves our refusal to accept God-given position 
• Sin brings spiritual and eternal death (Rom 6:23) 

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 (NLT)

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9 (NLT)

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE: 

Father, please forgive me for any time I did not put You first. Forgive me for the times I should have SPENT IN YOUR WORD BUT DIDN’T. LORD, I ask You to help stir up a desire in me to make significant changes in my life. Give me an unquenchable desire to take a big step forward in all that You desire that I accomplish in my life!  

I believe now is the time.   

I believe this is the day.   

I want more.   

I want to rise up in life.   

I want to change.   

I want to grow.  

Thank You that through the Holy Spirit empowering me from within, I will DEVOTE TIME TO YOUR WORD AND PUT YOU FIRST ABOVE ALL ELSE. HELP ME TO continue to run the race of life and remain ‘sold out’ to doing whatever it takes to finish the tasks You have placed in my hands. I decree and declare that I am not going to stay the same as I have been in the past.  In Jesus Name, Amen!
