Don’t Lose It, Pt. 2 / No Lo Pierdas, Parte 2

January 9, 2022

Last week we talked about Building the Church / La semana pasada hablamos sobre Edificar la Iglesia

The methods may change, but the message never changes.

We also talked about facing opposition while we are trying to advance the Kingdom of God. The enemy is not going to just lay back while we work; He will do everything possible to stop us!

Don’t lose hope! Don’t lose your praise! Don’t lose your fight! Don’t lose your motivation to move forward! Don’t lose it!  / ¡No pierdas la esperanza! ¡No pierdas tu alabanza! ¡No pierdas la pelea! ¡No pierdas la motivación para seguir adelante! ¡No lo pierdas!

This morning we will read from the book of Nehemiah. / Esta mañana leeremos del libro de Nehemías.

Background on Nehemiah: / Antecedentes de Nehemías:

It was written during the time that Jewish exiles were permitted to return to the homeland from captivity in Babylon and Persia.

Nehemiah was a high-ranking official to the king, who gave permission for him to go to Jerusalem to serve as governor and to rebuild the walls around the city.

Nehemiah 2:18-19

Do not let doubt discourage you from moving forward!

Nehemiah 2:20

3 Pillars of Wisdom: / 3 pilares de la sabiduría:

  1. God will not do what man can do / Dios no hará lo que el hombre puede hacer
  2.  Man cannot do what God can do / El hombre no puede hacer lo que Dios puede hacer
  3. God works when man works / Dios obra cuando el hombre trabaja

We must depend on the Lord, but we must NOT expect Him to do everything / Debemos depender del Señor, pero NO debemos esperar que Él haga todo

  1. The people put wholehearted devotion into the work / La gente puso en el trabajo una devoción incondicional.  Nehemiah 4:6
  2. The people were prayerful, alert, and diligent as they did the work / La gente estaba en oración, alerta y diligente mientras realizaban el trabajo. Nehemiah 4:9, 7-8

Have you ever been in a situation where you recognized the enemy was throwing everything at you to discourage you and keep you from moving forward?

How did you respond?

         3. The people demonstrated courage, determination, and faith when confronting opposition. Nehemiah 4:14

Where we are is unfamiliar. Where we are headed is unfamiliar. But it is not our job to worry about that. God knows what is in store for us and if the Lord is for us then nothing can stand against us!

Nehemiah 4:14

Ephesians 6 teaches us to stand and fight in the spirit.

When the enemy’s attacks don’t work, his tactics escalate.

But we stand firm! Just like the people with Nehemiah, we will not be idle.

Keep focus and guard your heart. / Mantén el foco y guarda tu corazón.

Jesus never said it would be easy, but it will be worth it!
