Jesus’ Claim

John 5:24-29

Introduction: Do we care about life?

The greatest solutions on the market today when it comes to life seem insignificant when compared to the offer of life presented by Jesus Christ.

Christ’s Claims

A. Christ claimed that his actions were one with the Father’s

Jesus sovereignly gives eternal life to whomever he wills

The Covenant of Redemption

The religious leaders didn’t want to break the law so they put a hedge around it in order to not break it

B. Jesus claims to have the power to give life

The process of becoming a Christian is simple — it is to hear and believe

Romans 10:9-10

Whoever / Whosoever

Spiritually dead

What does it mean to believe?

C. Jesus claims to have the authority to Execute Judgment

One is Justified (or made right with God) by faith alone apart from works

The Judgment for the believer isn’t a justifying verdict

The final judgment is based on works

IT is an open acknowledgment of what is true (Christ has already been judged in their place and they are righteous before God)

Final Judgment is the final chapter of Justification (it is the acquittal and acknowledgment of God’s verdict)

Good works attest to what God has done
