The Day the Jesus Crowd Went Away

November 28, 2021 / Greg Powell / John 6:52-70

This has been a full chapter! What a change has occurred since the beginning of John 6, where we see a great crowd walking toward Jesus – now they are walking away. Jesus was surrounded by a huge multitude and not long after He has only His 12 disciples, and He knows one of them is a betrayer!

This lengthy chapter closes with the difference between real and fake. It is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between the genuine article and a cheap imitation.

I.  Fake disciples are of Jesus’ background. (41-51)

II.  Fake disciples are by Jesus’ metaphors. (52-59)

III.  Fake disciples are about Jesus’ demands. (60-65)

IV.  True disciples are to following Jesus. (66-67)

V.  True disciples are their faith in Jesus. (68-71)
